Organic Vitamin C Drops

Q: The ingredients changed. Why is that?

A: You may have noticed that the source of vitamin C in our liquid drops has changed from PurC® organic amla fruit extract, to PurC® organic acerola. Since there was a supply chain shortage of organic amla fruit extract, we decided to move forward with reformulating our Vitamin C Liquid Drops with more readily-available organic acerola instead. We wanted to ensure that there would be no interruption in getting this product to our customers — now or in the future — and we didn't want sourcing to be an ongoing issue.

Though you're still getting the same amount of vitamin C per serving, you may notice some changes in the product such as a slightly different flavor profile and a darker color. We are also happy to say that we now have USDA Organic certification for our Vitamin C Liquid Drops! We hope you are as excited as we are to have this great product now available USDA organic certified, and that you enjoy this updated formulation.

Q: Will these Vitamin C drops help me if I am sick?

A: Vitamin C is best-known for its antioxidant properties, and while supplying your body with adequate Vitamin C on a regular basis is important for overall health, there is no conclusive evidence that Vitamin C on its own can cure a sickness. Ultimately, Vitamin C is a beneficial addition to your diet, no matter how you are feeling.

Q: Are the Vitamin C drops safe for kids?

A: Our Vitamin C Liquid Drops are suggested for ages 4 and up, based on the FDA's recommended intake of 90 mg Vitamin C daily. For the sake of labeling simplicity, the FDA's Daily Value recommendations groups children 4+ with adults; however, the Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs) for Vitamin C, established by the Institute of Medicine: Food and Nutrition Board, offers a more granular breakdown of RDAs, broken down further by age. You can view those RDAs on the National Institutes of Health fact sheet for Vitamin C . Since our product is liquid, the dose can easily be adjusted to meet those recommendations (we've even done the calculations for you! Check out the dosage chart in the images or look under the tab "Ingredients & Use"). Ultimately, in order to make the best health decisions possible for your little one, we recommend speaking with your pediatrician, physician, or healthcare professional to best determine what dose is best for your child.

Q: What is the difference between the different vitamin C liquid drops?

A: MaryRuth's has formulated Vitamin C Liquid Drops for all ages! We have vitamin C drops for infants , toddlers , and adults! Though these drops have the same look and flavor, there are a few differences when it comes to formula strength and dosage. For a more detailed look into the differences between the three options, take a look at our handy chart below:
